The distinctive weapon of the followers of the Red God fighting in Stannis's ranks resembles Lightbringer, Azor Ahai's legendary flaming sword, only in appearance. These fanatics simply douse their blades with a mixture of oils that, when ignited, briefly release an intense heat. Though they are not heavily armored, the Followers of R'hllor, thanks to their unwavering faith, retreat from no one on the battlefield. Even if they fall, their deaths can inspire their comrades to redouble their efforts.
